More information

Unlike most camping in Cornwall, there are no marked pitches and there is a limit on the number of people on site so that there is plenty of room for everybody to stretch out. There is also home produced lamb burgers and sausages for sale, as well as bags of wood so that you may experience the ultimate in cool camping - a campfire!

At the farmhouse they sell logs and kindling as well as their famous minted lamb burgers and mutton sausages - otherwise there is an excellent village shop in walking distance that will cater to all of your other needs including internet access and a small cafe.

Because we are a working sheep farm and because of our close proximity to the open moors we cannot accept dogs however small or well behaved. However next door to South Penquite is an excellent boarding kennels which would then give you the freedom to explore Cornwall while keeping in daily contact with your pet.

Penquite Petcare can be contacted on 01208 850360
please book well in advance - these kennels are extremely popular

The Mongolian Yurt, called " a vaulted tent" or "felt tent" in the ancient times, is a domed peaked tent. The frame of the yurt is a supporting ring, formed by some wooden poles. The wooden poles are fastened with leather thongs and studs to form a fence-like structure (which are called "Hana" in Mongolian). In Mongolia the frame of the yurt is covered with thick felt fastened from outside the yurt with ropes, and every yurt has an opening on the top, which provides both light and ventilation, and a wooden door facing south or southeast
